Residential Rehab

Baltimore Residential Rehab

Helping People of All Ages Overcome Drug & Alcohol Addiction

Recovering from alcohol and drug addictions can be incredibly challenging and requires intensive treatment and ongoing support. At times, outpatient programs and other treatment options do not provide the structure, resources, and distraction-free environment necessary to overcome addiction.

If you or someone you love is struggling with addiction, consider residential rehab. It is a form of treatment where patients live at the rehabilitation facility and receive intensive therapy and support. This is advantageous because it provides a structured environment without triggers and distractions that can make recovery difficult.

At Hygea Healthcare, we offer an American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) certified level 3.1 residential program at our facility on Belair Road.

What to Expect from Residential Rehab

No two addictions are the same, so we provide flexible treatments to fulfill the needs of those who come through our doors.

Residential rehab may involve the following and more:

  • 24/7 support from highly experienced staff, counselors, and group living professionals
  • Evidence-based and holistic addiction recovery treatments
  • Traditional cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT)
  • Individual, group, and family therapies
  • Yoga, meditation, diet management, and other alternative healing approaches
  • Free time for hobbies and activities
  • Dual diagnosis treatment for co-occurring disorders with substance use and mental health issues
  • Necessary medical care, such as routine dental checkups

How Long Is Residential Rehab?

No specific rehab period is appropriate for everyone. The length of stay in our Baltimore residential rehab program will depend on the nature of an addiction and the necessary treatments.

Residential vs. Outpatient Rehab

Residential rehab provides around-the-clock support and a structured living community. Patients participate in treatments, therapies, and counseling without the distractions of daily activities. They also interact with and have the chance to develop meaningful relationships with other patients going through similar struggles.

Outpatient rehab differs from residential rehab in significant ways. When a person is in outpatient rehab, they will attend therapy sessions and receive treatment while continuing to live at home, go to work, and tend to day-to-day responsibilities.

Outpatient rehab is flexible and offers greater independence. This can be beneficial and empowering. However, outpatient rehab may not provide the intensive support and supervision necessary for some to recover from addiction.

When Is Residential Rehab Necessary?

Residential rehab may be necessary depending on:

  • The severity of a person’s addiction
  • Whether someone has experienced frequent relapses
  • Whether a person has co-occurring disorders
  • If someone is living in an environment that is not conducive to recovery
  • If detoxification is necessary
  • A person’s recovery goals
