Hygea Belair is a 16-bed facility and offers a 3.1 ASAM certified treatment program with separate level II.1 Intensive Outpatient (IOP) Services and Level I Outpatient Services (OS). The 50-bed Hygea Middle River facility offers level 3.7, and 3.7WM ASAM certified treatment programs.
Community ResidentialThe level 3.1 ASAM certified treatment program is not residential treatment but a therapeutic recovery community, staffed 24/7 by peer counselors and licensed counseling staff to provide individual, group, and family services. These services and our team support are designed to successfully improve the individual’s ability to structure and organize daily life tasks and recovery. Clinical activities include relapse prevention, exploring interpersonal choices, and the development of a social network rooted in healing. The level 3.1 treatment program at Hygea Belair is fully ADA compliant, distinguishing it from most ASAM level 3.1 services in Baltimore City.
Intensive OutpatientThe intensive outpatient (IOP) level II.1 program at Hygea Healthcare is an 8-to-12-week program consisting of structured group and individual counseling sessions and mental health services, including evaluation, counseling, and medication-assisted treatment (MAT). In some instances, family services may also be necessary. Structured education programs about relapse, substance use, and stress management are provided, and alternative therapies, such as meditation, auricular detox, acupuncture, and yoga are available.
Outpatient ProgramThe outpatient level I program at Hygea Healthcare is a weekly program that consists of structured group and individual therapy sessions, including family services depending upon the request or need of each client. As a community-based treatment program, we rely on established relationships with other trusted entities to provide necessary services based on an individual’s needs and circumstances. Services may include long-term sober housing, transportation, childcare, vocational, employment, education, legal, and financial planning to ensure overall success in the community.
